H.E.
Ambassador Mr. Norihiro Okuda started his diplomatic career immediately after
he was graduated from the faculty of law, University of Tokyo in 1975.
Once
he entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan, he started an
intensive study program in the Arabic language (Egypt) and worked as Second
Secretary in the Embassy of Japan in Egypt in 1979.
He
occupied key posts in MOFA including Director for Second Middle Eastern
Division in Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Director for Grant Aid
Division in Economic Cooperation
Bureau,
Deputy Director-General for General Affairs in Economic Affairs Bureau and
Deputy Director-General for Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau.
He
also served in Japanese Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York,
Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Embassy of Japan in the
United States of America.
He
was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Afghanistan in
2004, Director-General, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, MOFA in 2006
and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Deputy Permanent
Representative of Japan to the United Nations in 2008.
In
August 2010, he was appointed to the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to Egypt.
