At the Cost of 105 Million EGP
H.E. Mehleb Inaugurates Educational Services Building at E-JUST
Al-Gohary: E-JUST is the Co-operation Outcome of the 2 countries after President El-Sisi Visit to Japan
Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) mourned the victims of the terrible terrorism attack from the Egyptian military forces. This took place during the celebration of E-JUST undergraduate studies inauguration. The ceremony initiated with one standing minute of mourning for the martyrs. The esteemed guests included Eng. Ebrahim Mehleb – President of Egypt Advisor for National Strategic Projects, Ambassador Faiza Abou El-Naga – E-JUST Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairperson and Ambassador Takehiro KAGAWA – Japanese Ambassador in Egypt. Also among the guests; Dr. Mohamed Sultan – Governor of Alexandria, General Sayed Abd El-Fattah – Governor of North Sinai and Ito TIROYUKI – Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Representative in Cairo. The Educational Services Building at E-JUST cost is 105 million EGP on an area of 2500 m2 per floor. The total area is 7500 m2, having study lecture halls, activity rooms and a theatre that holds up to 300 chairs.
E-JUST President – Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary asserted that today’s ceremony is for starting the undergraduate studies and welcoming the first student batch in both faculties of Engineering and International Business and Humanities. He added that E-JUST is the outcome of the cooperation and partnership between Egypt and Japan after President El-Sisi’s visit to Japan. E-JUST is regarded as the first University to apply Japanese standards outside Japan. It the biggest international funded project by JICA over the past 20 years. JICA provides financial and technical support to all University laboratories with necessary educational equipment and research devices. Moreover, supporting Faculty staff members in study fields through the best Japanese Universities and Industrial Organizations in Egypt. Furthermore, Ambassador Faiza Abou El-Naga announced E-JUST as a model for Education reformation in Egypt, which is the best method to fight back the fanatic thinking that leads to terrorism.
All guests joined in a tour in E-JUST campus. The campus is built on an area of 200 acres, at the cost of 3 billion EGP. It includes 12 Educational Buildings, Centers of Excellence and Innovation, Central Library and an Athletic City. It is the first Eco-friendly residential campus in Egypt.
