Admission to Faculty of Engineering and International Business and Humanities at E-JUST 



A press conference is held on Wednesday August 2nd, 2017 at the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) headquarters, Cairo; to discuss E-JUST undergraduate programs. In the presence of Prof. Khaled Abdelghaffar - Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Takehiro KAGAWA - Japanese Ambassador in Egypt and Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary – E-JUST President. 


Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar - Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) announced that under the framework of Egypt-Japan Education Partnership (EJEP) Initiative, aiming at implementing Japanese educational methods in Egypt. These techniques are based on scientific research and practical application. Academic year starts in September 2017 for high school and equivalent diplomas from Arab countries, American Diplomas and STEM school students. Study programs include Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of International Business and Humanities (FIBH). On the one hand, Faculty of Engineering includes eight programs; Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Industrial and Systems Management Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Energy Resources Engineering and Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering. On the other hand, FIBH includes Accounting, Information Technology and Human Resources Management. 


Furthermore, Prof. Takehiro KAGAWA - Japanese Ambassador in Cairo, stated that Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) is the largest educational project funded by Japan outside its borders through Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The agreement is signed to grant of 19$ million for the first phase of research and educational equipment. The second phase of the grant, valued at 9$ million, should be signed in the near future.  


Moreover, Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary – E-JUST President mentioned that E-JUST is a research oriented University with Japanese partnership and 12 Japanese universities. Current study programs in faculties of Engineering and International Business and Humanities, are currently receiving applicants. Engineering admission requirements include passing chemistry, physics, mathematics and logical thinking examinations. While FIBH admission requires passing logical thinking and mathematics examinations. These exams are scheduled to be held on August 21st, 2017 at E-JUST campus in New Borg Al-Arab City - Alexandria, Faculty of Commerce - Assiut University, and Faculty of Engineering - Cairo University. Besides, the student should pass the English Language test (through cooperation between the British Council and E-JUST). University study programs are in English, and based upon laboratorial and applied curricula as well as research projects. E-JUST offers full student residency in the university campus in individual rooms with internet access and several student activities. The University targets disbursement of Japanese culture lifestyle among its students and consequently among Egyptian society members. 


Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary added that the university offers a variety of governmental and private scholarships for Upper Egypt and Sinai students. In addition to special scholarships for STEM school and delegated students. As well as distinguished athletic and of scientific and technical uniqueness.
