E-JUST Celebrates the Academic Year with Japanese Ambassador in Cairo
On Monday November 18th, 2019, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) celebrates the beginning of the academic studies year 2019/2020 at its permanent campus. E-JUST is located in new Borg Al-Arab city – Alexandria. This distinctive event esteemed guests include; H.E. Ambassador Faiza Abou El-Nagga – E-JUST Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairperson and Japanese Ambassador in Cairo. In addition to Armed Forces Engineering Authority leading officials, that supervised E-JUST Permanent Campus Construction execution.
Besides, E-JUST stated that at the beginning of the ceremony, an African postgraduate student expressed her utter gratitude to the upscale scientific education level she received at the university. This is regarded as part of the offered scholarship program to a number of African countries in the West and Central Continent with special funding from Japanese International Cooperation (JICA).
Moreover, E-JUST documentary film about the studying environment was presented as well as the development of new campus construction phases.
E-JUST President Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary, is clearly exhilarated at the celebration held in the new campus that already began receiving students. Also, the Solar Power Station inauguration that was granted from Japan; producing clean energy of 650 kilowatts. Thus, marking a huge difference in the form of its contribution in this scientific and structural achievement.
Furthermore, Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary announced that studies this year begins its first phase at University Permanent Campus. E-JUST Permanent Headquarters is established on an area of 200 acres and the buildings occupy only 17% of the total area. Not only the designs are environment friendly but also apply the latest international systems and modern technologies.
On the one hand, the Japanese Ambassador in Cairo thanked the Egyptian government E-JUST BoT Chairperson Ambassador Faiza Abou El-Nagga. The Ambassador promoted the cooperation scope and diversity between Egypt and Japan in several scientific, cultural and developmental fields.
On the other hand, Ambassador Fayza Abou El-Nagga thanked the Japanese side for their great efforts exerted during the past years as well as Egypt’s effective role. In particular, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi personally supported E-JUST Project and the scientific research system in Egypt in general. Let alone to mention that it was a first to witness such interest during the era of President Al-Sisi, where after scientific research locomotive economy of any country.
Last but not least, H.E. Ambassador Faiza added that Egypt has spent more than 5.5 Billion EGP to establish E-JUST. Her personal happiness is indescribable to make this dream come true. The thought was triggered 17 years ago, aiming at offering the best education level according to scientific standards.
To conclude, representatives of these community institutions were honored during the ceremony.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that E-JUST is a public university of a special nature established within the framework of fruitful cooperation between both Egyptian and Japanese governments.
