E-JUST Welcomes Tanzanian Ambassador

Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) President Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary welcomed Tanzanian Ambassador in Cairo Major General Ansalam Bhatti. The visit aims at discussing cooperation means between the University and its counterparts in Tanzania. Thus, taking advantage of African students’ scholarship grants from both Japanese government and Japanese International Cooperation Agency “JICA”. In addition, benefiting from Japanese experienced model in education, which is based on scientific and laboratory applications.

Besides, this came in light of E-JUST’s announcement that it would offer 150 scholarships for postgraduate studies. The grants began in September 2020 for African cadres, within the framework of cooperation between Egyptian and Japanese governments.

These grants target enhancing human resources in the fields of science, technology and innovation in order to contribute in the development of African countries. All these aspects were discussed in the “Yokohama Executive Plan 2019” during the seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) Summit held last August.

Moreover, Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary stated that, in coordination with the Japanese International Cooperation Authority (JICA), E-JUST receives applications for both masters and doctorate degrees for students from African countries. Engineering postgraduate studies include; Electronics and Communications, Computer Science, Electrical Power, Mechatronics and Robotics, Industrial Design and Systems Management, Materials Science, Energy Resources, Environmental and Chemical and Petrochemicals. Furthermore, Basic and Applied Sciences School programs; Nano science, Biotechnology, Computational and Applied Mathematics and Energy Materials Science.

To conclude, Prof. Al-Gohary affirmed the importance of informing Egyptian and Africa students about advanced technologies. Subsequently, training them to logical thinking, which is consistent with the global trend. This leads to coping with Egypt’s vision and leadership in supporting African brothers in various fields.
