Egypt-Japan Science Forum Details “Sustainability in Scientific Research”
Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) organized a forum entitled “Sustainability in Scientific Research”. This event was held in collaboration with Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) yesterday at the University’s headquarters in Borg Al-Arab. The Forum aims at promoting Higher Education and Scientific Research cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
250 faculty staff members participated in Egyptian universities Science faculties and research institutes. The forum’s activities included workshops discussing several scientific issues that affect scientific research development and applications in various scientific fields in Egypt. For instance, modern cancer treatment techniques, solar energy, nonmetric substances and their applications in the field of biomedical medicine as well as sustainability in water treatment.
Moreover, the Forum opening was attended by E-JUST President Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary and JSPS International Affairs Head Mr. Norishoy Mascow. The esteemed guests also included JSPS Association Chairman Prof. Ibrahim Tantawi and E-JUST VPR Prof. Satoshi Goto.
Furthermore, E-JUST postgraduate engineering studies has eight disciplines as well as the Institute of Applied Sciences. As for undergraduate studies, there are both Faculty of Engineering and International Business. In addition to E-JUST Cairo Office in Smart Village which was inaugurated last December. This office targets providing training programs that link E-JUST with the industry through modern Technology transfer and Japanese management practices in various fields for Egyptian industrial enterprises. This shall take place through the transfer of applicable internal University research to the industry sector. E-JUST schedules holding a training program next March on supply chain management at its administrative headquarters located in the Smart Village.
