Minister of Planning: E-JUST is a distinctive Model for Smart Governmental Universities
Minister of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform Dr. Hala El Said, stated that the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) is a distinctive model of smart government universities. This University implements all sustainable development criteria. The practical application of sustainable development aspects is integrated into the 13 programs currently implemented by E-JUST. The University benefits around 500 students, affirming that E-JUST is based on Japanese standards in all educational, research and administrative fields.
A delegation from the Ministry of Planning, headed by Assistant Minister Dr. Gamil Helmi and Ministry Development Sector Head Nabil Fouad, checked E-JUST permanent headquarters construction work. Minister Hala El-Said guided the work, confirming the importance of periodic follow-up. The periodic follow up of the status of development projects implementation executed by the State in all sectors and governorates.
The planning Minister announced in a press conference, that such projects are concerned with individual and community development. In addition, being a means of joint cooperation among governments and no-governmental organizations, as well as work on diversification and development of financial resources.
Dr. Gamil Helmi praised the achievement level regarding implementing the university project. E-JUST is established on an area of 200 acres in May 2016. Since the beginning of the project, more than 2000 job opportunities were available for youth.
The Assistant Minister pointed out that 98% of first phase construction phase is completed, while 66% of second phase construction phase is completed. The total estimated cost is 4.5 billion. Since E-JUST establishment and preserving energy criteria in all university buildings is taken into consideration. Also, working on Clean Energy Plant Station establishment.
It is worth noting that E-JUST is an Egyptian governmental university in partnership with Japan. It is a solid establishment through promoting cooperation ties between both Egyptian and Japanese academic institutions. It consists of two faculties. The Engineering Faculty includes Electronics and Communications, Computer Science, Electrical Power, Industrial, and Material Science Engineering departments. In addition, Mechatronics, Chemical and Petrochemical engineering, and Energy Resources engineering departments. The second Faculty is Business Management and Humanities. This Faculty includes International Business and Systems Management, as well as Humanitarian studies departments. The Faculty accepts High school students and equivalent certificates from Arab States, American Diplomas STEM school students.
