New Japanese Ambassador visits E-JUST

Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) President Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary welcomed the new Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Masaaki Nuki. The visit took place at the University’s headquarters located in new Borg el-Arab city, Alexandria.

H.E. the Ambassador viewed E-JUST campus construction works, that is based on 200 acres at a cost of 4 billion EGP. He also joined the students in attending a lecture on Japanese language and culture. Besides, he praised the University as fruitful model for cooperation between the two countries. E-JUST is the first Japanese University located outside Japan. H.E. then confirmed the support provided by Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the University. This support is represented in modern laboratory and research equipment as well as the delegation of faculty staff members from Japanese Universities to E-JUST. Moreover, offering training opportunities in Japan for Egyptian University staff.

Furthermore, Prof. Ahmed Al-Gohary asserted on E-JUST keenness; to strengthen Egyptian-Japanese ties in both education and scientific research fields. Last but not least, Japan has a prominent role in developing the education system in Egypt and Africa through E-the University’s distinctive curricula. Finally, E-JUST faculty staff members contribute with their experience in some African Universities to transfer their gained Japanese experience to their countries.
