President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology: We Are Preparing to Construct 14 New Faculty Buildings at a Cost of 10 Billion Pounds to Complete the University Campus

Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary, President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, confirmed that in execution of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives during the inauguration of the University to complete the entire campus, 14 new faculty buildings will soon be constructed at a cost of EGP 10 billion. He explained that the next phase of the University includes the establishment of a visitors’ area, an exhibition hall for Egyptian industries, and an academic area which contains 14 faculties, 4 lecture halls, and a student service and public service area. Additionally, he indicated that the total investments of the University’s first phase amounted to EGP 6.7 billion, which were implemented according to international standards, explaining that the University is one of the fourth-generation smart universities that depends on information technology and the Internet in everything it offers.

The University president added that the campus, which will be completed, has a total area of 200 acres and is located in the universities sector in the New of Borg El-Arab City. Its design is in line with the latest global technology available and is environmentally friendly with smart electronic management technology. The percentage of buildings occupies 17% of the total area of land. The design is based on providing an advanced technical infrastructure, as well as an information network designed with a fiber-optic network to enhance data transmission at a speed of up to 10 gigabits per second in the distribution areas and up to 40 gigabits in the core area of the network and can be increased to reach 100 gigabits per second in the future.

In addition, a data center of 1,200 square meters was designed, corresponding to the fundamentals of international accreditation, to provide research and operational services to the University at the highest level of performance, as well as provide an Internet connection of up to 1 gigabit per second, whereby the entire campus enjoys WIFI services.
