The Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology Announces the Winning of 4 Research Projects Funded by “JICA” to Establish Industrial Companies

Prof. Satoshi Goto, Vice President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) for Research, announced the winning of 4 projects with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to establish industrial companies from the university’s research outputs. He explained that this comes within the framework of JICA to encourage researchers at E-JUST to enter the world of entrepreneurship and establish industrial companies to manufacture and market industrial products and hence deepen local manufacturing.

He stated that JICA had created the EJSTART program with the aim of incubating a number of projects to convert the abstracts of applied research at the university into prototypes. It also organized a competition among researchers and announced that it would incubate a limited number of winning projects.

He pointed out that the winners of research projects funded by JICA are Dr. Moataz Abdel-Wahab, Prof. Adel Bedair, Prof. Mohsen Ghali and Prof. Mohsen Abdel-Naim, explaining that JICA provided support for the four projects with an amount of 250 thousand pounds with the aim of incubating the results of the projects until reaching the stage of manufacturing a ready-made industrial product for the local and international market.
