With Masks and Social Distancing, Board of Trustees of Egypt-Japan University Starts its Meeting in the Presence of 72 Observers
Through strict precautionary measures for Corona Virus: wearing protective masks and maintaining social distancing, the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology started its twenty-second session, chaired by Ambassador Fayza Abul-Naga, former Minister of International Cooperation and Adviser to the President of the Republic for National Security, Tuesday, in the presence of Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary, President of the University, Prof. Masaaki Suzuki, Vice President for Regional and International Relations, Prof. Goto Satoshi, Vice President for Research, Prof. Sameh Nada, Vice President for Education and Academic Affairs, and members of the Board of Trustees from the Egyptian and Japanese sides.
The meeting participants from the Egyptian side: Prof. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Prof. Mohammed Lotayef, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, representing the Ministry of Higher Education, Prof. Abdulaziz Qanswa, President of Alexandria University, Prof. Hany Helal, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Ambassador Mahmoud Talaat will participate in the meeting. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Ismail Serageldin, Founding President of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Ms. Mona Ahmed, representing the Ministry of International Cooperation, and the Egyptian private sector and industry represented by Prof. Sherine Hassan Helmy and Engineer Mohamed Abdel Gaid Al-Arabi will also be present.
Participants from the Japanese side: Prof. Nobuko Kayashima, First Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Vice President of the Council, Ambassador Masaki Noke, Ambassador of the Japan in Cairo, Mr. Omura Yoshifumi, Chief Representative of the JICA Office in Cairo, Prof. Tatsuhiko Shirai – Former President of Waseda University, and Prof. Kyosuke Nagata, President of Tsukuba University, will also participate from the Japanese side. Prof. Kazuya Masu, President of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Prof. Mitsuo Ochi, President of Hiroshima University, Prof. Yoshio Nakatani, President of Ritsuemeikan University, Prof. Tatsuro Ishibashi, President of Kyushu University, Yasushi Taguchi representing the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and Mr. Jun Karube, President of Toyota Tsusho International Corporation, representing the Japanese private sector and industry will also attend.
