Welcome to E-JUST, where you can enjoy unique international learning environment in Africa and the Middle East.
E-JUST was established in 2009, based on the agreement between the Egyptian and the Japanese governments. Since the university first days E-JUST was given full autonomy to be a university of excellence in all dimensions, thanks to the full support provided from the relevant authorities from Egypt and Japan.
E-JUST consider the excellence and the continuous enhancement in all its activities, research, teaching and learning, and community services. As being research oriented higher education institute, E-JUST acknowledge the satisfactory achievements of the university researchers that have never being preceded in Egypt, when calculated as scientific production per scholar. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the next frontier in technology, and there are many companies trying to capitalize on it. Dr. El-Sharkawy will introduce the Internet of Thing Collaboratory at Purdue School of Engineering and Technology. The Collaboratory’s objective is engaging and integrating with the community, network with companies and professional groups, to create living collaboratory to work on mutual problems using supporting technology and software for advanced IoT applications.


Dr. El-Sharkawy is a full professor and director of the Internet of Things Collaboratory at Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, USA. He has over thirty years of research and teaching experience in the areas of Embedded Autonomous Systems, Internet of Things, Digital Signal Processing and Wireless Communications. He wrote four books supported by Motorola Inc. and over two hundred and seventy papers. He was a Vice President of Research at E-JUST from 2009 to 2012. He was a third party for Motorola and FreeScale since 1989. He was the director of the Pluglab for testing and certification of HomePNA products. He spent two sabbaticals years at Motorola Inc. and FreeScale Inc. He consulted for many companies. He received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from Southern Methodist University in 1985. He received the Abraham M. Max Distinguished Professor Award from Purdue University in 1996. He received the US Fulbright Scholar Award in 2008. He received the Prestigious External Award Recognition Award from Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, 2009. He is a reviewer for the National Science Foundation and Fulbright.
