About the program

The graduate program in accounting and information systems is an intensive multidisciplinary program that is unique among Egyptian Universities. The program is designed for those who are pursuing an academic career as faculty members and professionals who intend to enhance their careers in accounting and information systems. It involves a comprehensive study of interdisciplinary methods, theories, and research in the areas of accounting and information systems, and choices of various electives covering a wide range of related subjects.

Programs Offered

E-JUST offers two graduate programs in accounting and information systems:

  1. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in AIS,
  2. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in AIS.

Students who aspire to doctoral study in accounting and information systems but need to strengthen their background may wish to consider our M.Sc., which admits both part-time and full-time students. Students in this program take many of the same courses as our doctoral students and may use these courses towards their doctoral degree if they are later admitted to the doctoral program.

 

 

Admission and Selection Procedures

1-   Announcement:

In different universities to students and faculties, official newspapers and E-JUST website: http://www.ejust.edu.eg. Starting December 1st, 2020

2-   Submission of application form:

Fill online application, select the research topics and submit the required documents with the application.

3-   Document screening:

E-JUST internal work including documents classification and analyses for inviting applicants for entrance exam and interviews

4-   Entrance Exams and Interview:

Including presentation of research proposals.

5-   Admission Result Release:

After the analysis of entrance exams and interview results

6-   Registration:

After submission of all required original documents, the applicant is academically accepted as E-JUST student.

Admission Requirements

Age    Applicants should be under 30 years for MSc applicants and 35 for PhD applicants on March. 1, 2021 (for MoHE Scholarships).
English language proficiency §  For Private and E-JUST teaching assistants scholarships applicants: TOEFL iBT 79 or Academic IELTS: 6.5 (as a full time student)

§  For Governmental Scholarships applicants: TOEFL iBT 79 or Academic IELTS: 6.5 (as a full time student)or TOEFL IBT 65 or Academic IELTS 5.5 (as a provisional student)

The Language certificate should be valid on the date of the application of the applicant.

Educational background For M.Sc. Applicant:

·         A student should hold a bachelor degree or equivalent in accounting and/or information systems with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or or an equivalent cumulative percentage of at least 75%. from an Egyptian university or any other academic institution (in Egypt or abroad) recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) in Egypt.

For PhD Applicant:

·         A student should the student must have a bachelor degree in accounting and/or information systems and a M.Sc. degree in accounting and/or information systems from an Egyptian university or any other academic institution (in Egypt or abroad) recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) in Egypt.

Duration of study For M.Sc. Applicant:

·         Students should complete their master’s degree in 2 years as a minimum.

For PhD Applicant:

·         Students should complete their Ph.D. degree in 3 years as a minimum.

Admission Exams:  

The General/Subject exam will focus on the basics and recent trends in accounting in general and on the basics and recent trends in the specialized accounting area (accounting information systems, management accounting, financial accounting, auditing) and will examine the applicant’s awareness of those basics and trends.

A Student should pass successfully all entrance examinations and interviews before admission to the program.

For M.Sc. Applicant:

1)      General accounting written exam: (30% of total grade).

will cover the basics of accounting in general (one Hour)

2)      Specialized accounting written exam: (30% of total grade)

will cover the area of specialization (one hour).

3) Interview: (40% of total grade)

will focus on the applicant’s communication and presentation skills in addition to his/her knowledge in the area of specialization and research ability.

The applicant will give a presentation for 15 minutes using PPT for his/her research proposal.

For PhD Applicant:

1)      General accounting written exam (25% of total grade)

will cover the basics of accounting in general) (one hour).

2)      Specialized accounting written exam (25% of total grade)

will cover the area of specialization (one hour).

3)      Interview (50% of total grade)

will focus on the applicant’s communication and presentation skills in addition to his/her knowledge in the area of specialization and research ability.

The applicant will give a presentation for 15 minutes using PPT for his/her research proposal.

 

Based on the student’s credentials and performance in the admission test and interview the admission committee might require the student to take some deficiency courses that should be taken before starting the program.
