Accounting and Information Technology Track
This track provides a comprehensive education in accounting and information technology to produce graduates who possess the skills needed in the global business environment. The program addresses the need for professional accountants and auditors with information technology expertise and combines theory, integrated applied projects, and paid co-op work terms.
a.Recommend to management appropriate accounting and financial techniques for planning and control in domestic or international settings.
b.Assess operating and financial policies that are legally compliant, adhere to accounting and control standards, and are ethically, culturally and economically appropriate.
c.Plan effective external, internal, or information systems audits.
d.Assess employee and organizational information and administration systems through the effective use of information technology which is culturally, legally and ethically appropriate.
e.Recommend initiatives geared towards improving effectiveness, efficiency and economy of processes, functions, employees, or businesses.
f.Assess programs, policies, and practices for alignment with overall organizational goals and objectives in both domestic and international contexts.
g.Demonstrate essential employability skills including: ability to collaborate with others, ability to integrate information cross-functionally, critical and creative thinking, self-evaluation of own performance and professional development needs, and leadership.
The weight of the requirements of this track is equivalent to 38 credit hours. Eight compulsory courses (24 Credit Hours), and Two elective course (6 Credit Hours each) in addition two compulsory Senior Project (Internship) (8 Credit hours).
