1.Eligibility Requirements

  1. Egyptian applicants must have completed a secondary school education and hold a valid THANAWYA AMMA certificate- Mathematics, Science, Literature Streams, or equivalent (e.g. IGCSE, American Diploma, etc…).
  2. Applicant’s age must not exceed 21 years as of September 1, 2019. Male applicants have to provide their military service status.
  3. Applicants from other countries must have equivalent secondary school certificate approved by the Supreme Council of Universities of Egypt (SCU).
  4. Foreign certificate holders should have completed at least 12 years of schooling or completed 3 years of secondary school after the Egyptian Preparatory school certificate (Eidadiya) or completed 6 years of secondary school and preparatory school after the Egyptian Primary school certificate as per the rules and regulation of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.
  5. Accepted students’ holder of foreign certificates must pass the Arabic and Religion exams of Thanawya Amma before or after the final acceptance in the university.
  6. Applicants must be able to read, write and communicate efficiently in English.
    The following are applied:

    • All applicants must pass the E-JUST English Proficiency Test
    • Applicants who have TOEFL (iBT) score of 60 or IELTS score of 6.0 will be waived from the E-JUST English Proficiency Test. Only valid certificate will be accepted ( the certificate validity is 2 years after the test date)
    • Applicants who did not pass the E-JUST English Proficiency Test might be enrolled in E-JUST as a provisional student for one academic year provided that he/she will pass the test within this year, otherwise the student enrollment will be terminated.
    • Provisional student can apply for 11 credit hours based on the university’s academic schedule.
  7. The University accepts applications from students who are holders of the following certificates:

THANAWYA AMMA:

Certificate with at least 70% for Literature, math or science section.

STEM SCHOOLS:

Students must have achieved an overall score of at least 65%

THANAWYA AMMA/TAWGIHI CERTIFICATE FROM OTHER ARAB COUNTRIES:

Certificate from Arab Countries with at least 70% for Literature or science section.

THANAWYA AZHARIA CERTIFICATE:

Students must have achieved an overall score equivalent to 70% in Egyptian Thanaweya Amma for Literature section or science section. Religious subjects will not be considered.

BRITISH SCHOOLS:
  • Students must have successfully completed 12 years of schooling.
  • Applicant must have achieved a minimum overall score of at least 70% in eight O-level (OL) subjects including the qualifying subject which is English or English Literature.
  • E-JUST accepts a minimum grade of C in O-level subjects, and a minimum grade of D in A-level and AS-level subjects. Repeated subjects will not be double counted. The best grade obtained in a repeated subject will be the only one considered, noting that the number of studied A-level and AS-level subjects will be considered and given a priority.
  • IGCSE OL subjects should be from the extended system, not the core system. Up to five sittings is considered acceptable (taken over no more than three successive years).
  • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA:
  • Students must have achieved a minimum overall score of 70% in the high school.
  • Students must have successfully completed eight different subjects including the qualifying subject which is English or English Literature. Subjects worth less than one credit will not be accepted.
  • Subjects such as physical education, music, yearbook and religion will not be counted
  • Subjects can be calculated from grade 11 (maximum of three subjects) and/or 12 (minimum five subjects).
  • The minimum required score for acceptance is a combined total score of 900/1600 in SAT I (1210/2400 Old SAT 1).
  • Students who receive an American High School Diploma must submit proof of 12 years of schooling.
  • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
CANADIAN DIPLOMA FROM SCHOOLS INSIDE EGYPT
  • Students must have achieved a minimum overall score of 70% in the high school.
  • Students must have successfully completed eight different subject including the qualifying subject which is English or English Literature
  • Subjects worth less than one credit are not accepted.
  • Subjects can be calculated from grade 11 (maximum of three subjects) and from grade 12 (minimum of five subjects). Subjects such as physical education, music, yearbook and religion will not be counted.
  • The minimum required score for acceptance is a combined total score of 900/1600 in SAT I (1210/2400 Old SAT 1).
  • Students who receive Canadian Diploma must submit proof of 12 years of schooling.
  • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
  • CANADIAN DIPLOMA FROM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS IN CANADA (EXCEPT THE QUEBEC PROVINCE):
    • Students must have achieved a minimum overall score of 70% in the high school.
    • Students must have successfully completed eight different subject including the qualifying subject which is English or English Literature.
    • Subjects worth less than one credit will not be accepted.
    • Subjects can be calculated from grade 11 (maximum of three subjects) and from grade 12 (minimum of five subjects). Subjects such as physical education, music, yearbook and religion will not be counted.
    • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
    FRENCH BACCALAUREATE:
  • Students must have achieved a minimum overall score of 70% in the high school.
  • Seven subjects must be included in grade calculations including the qualifying subject which is English or English Literature
  • A minimum score of 10/20 is required as a passing grade.
  • Five points will be added to each course in the evaluation as a bonus and the final percentage will be calculated according to the student’s score in each course and the corresponding coefficient.
  • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
  • GERMAN ABITUR:
    • Students must have achieved a minimum overall score of 70% in the high school.
    • Students must have taken the qualifying subject which is English or English Literature in grade 11 and 12.
    • Seven subjects must be included in grade calculations (including the qualifying subjects).
    • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
    INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE:
    • Students must have achieved a minimum overall score of 70% in the high school.
    • Students must have passed six subjects, with a minimum of three taken at the high level (including the qualifying subjects).
    • A minimum score of 24/45 is required as a passing score.
    • Passing in English language is a must for acceptance. Theory of knowledge, extended essay and creativity are required subjects.
    • Students must obtain the final graduation IB Diploma to be considered for admission.
    • The equivalent score is calculated in compliance with Ministry of Higher Education regulations and score calculation rules.
    • Other certificate requirements follow the regulations and score calculation rules of the Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt.

    Notes:

    • Meeting the minimum requirement for application does not mean that the student will be automatically accepted to E-JUST. Students are required pass the document screening, entrance examination and the final interview.
    • Students acceptance is based on an overall assessment of the high school score, admission entrance exams score, English score and passing the interview.
    • Incomplete applications will not be considered for final decision.
    • Any deliberate falsifications or forgeries in the application process will result in immediate rejection.
    • All correspondence during the admission process will be done by email, applicant should ensure registering with well-functioning email address and check it constantly, including the junk-email box.
    • Submitted documents will not be returned for any reason.
