2024-10-07

As part of the ongoing efforts by the governments of Egypt and Japan to promote peace through the development of educational capacities and scientific exchange, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on October 3, 2024, to launch the E-JUST Palestine Scholarship for Human Resource Development. The MoU was signed between the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), represented by its President, Prof. Amr Adly, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), represented by Mr. Kato Ken, Chief Representative of JICA Egypt Office. The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Oka Hiroshi, Japan’s Ambassador to Egypt, and Dr. Ambassador Wafiq Abu Sidu, Consul General of the State of Palestine in Alexandria, along with a high-level delegation from the Palestinian Embassy. This cooperation aims to provide exceptional educational opportunities for Palestinian students and researchers, particularly those affected by the current situation in Gaza, by offering fully funded scholarships for undergraduate or master's studies at E-JUST. This program is part of the partnership between the governments of Egypt and Japan and strengthens the university’s role as a regional center of excellence in higher education and scientific research in the Arab and African regions.
