E-JUST Welcomes Japanese Ambassador Fumio Iwai

The Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) welcomed H.E. Ambassador Fumio Iwai, the Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, along with delegation from the Japanese Embassy, at its main campus in New Borg El Arab. The visit welcomed by Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST. The visit commenced with a meeting between Ambassador Iwai and Prof. Amr Adly, during which they discussed areas of academic and research collaboration between Egypt and Japan. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sameh Nada, Vice President for Academic Affairs & Education, along with advisors from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at E-JUST. Following the meeting, the delegation embarked on a campus tour, marking Ambassador Iwai’s first visit to E-JUST. The tour included key facilities such as Prof. Ahmed El Gohary’s Center of Excellence for Research, featuring state-of-the-art laboratories like the Graphene Lab and Space Lab, as well as the main library named after H.E. Fayza Abouelnaga and the E-JUST gift shop. This provided the delegation with an opportunity to explore the university’s latest research and educational programs. During the visit, the Japanese delegation also met with students from the TICAD Initiative, which supports Africa’s development, and Japanese language professors. The discussions highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and language education in strengthening ties between Egypt and Japan. Additionally, the delegation held a meeting with representatives from JICA, where both sides explored ways to enhance current and future cooperation between Japan and E-JUST. E-JUST reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strong international partnerships, emphasizing its role as a center of excellence in research, education, and industry collaboration. Prof. Amr Adly underscored the significance of firsthand cultural experiences in fostering deeper mutual understanding, emphasizing that cultural exchange plays a key role in building long-term relationships. This visit marks another step in the ongoing collaboration between Egypt and Japan, further strengthening bilateral efforts in education and scientific research.
