Akram ElKasas and the President of Egypt-Japan University Discuss the Industrial Support Plan.

Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary, President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST); received Mr. Akram ElKasas, Chairman and Chief Editor of : Al Youm7” At the beginning of their meeting, Prof. El-Gohary welcomed Mr. Akram and the newspaper official in charge of the universities’ portfolio at the main campus of E-JUST. Both parties discussed the website’s leading role in spreading awareness and facts as well as the fabulous success it has achieved in gaining the reader’s trust and becoming a main source for news in Egypt. Furthermore, the importance of this visit was highlighted as it helps in conveying the key role that the university plays in bringing the Japanese experience in education to Egypt in addition to qualifying graduates to compete in the local and international labor market. The President of E-JUST discussed the benefits of the Japanese educational model that the university is applying as well as the philosophy behind the establishment of the university. Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary clarified that the university was established in collaboration with the Japanese government and relies on using the Japanese educational academic system, concepts and model that depend on laboratory approaches in teaching and learning based on scientific research, and interactive learning based on experimentation, creativity, and innovation. He added that the Board of Trustees of the university includes 20 members including public figures from Egypt and Japan. He also added that E-JUST has scientific and educational partnerships with 13 Japanese Universities with collaborative supervision. From his side, Mr. Akram ElKasas expressed how delighted he was to visit the university in order to cover this unique Japanese experience in Egypt. The magnificent architecture and Japanese design of the university’s main campus as well as the educational programs were highly praised for the excellent experience it provides to students. It contributes to having a generation of young Egyptians with skills that meet the needs of the labor market as the university provides education in accordance with international standards. Al Youm7 also met with Prof. Amr Adly, Strategic Planning Consultant; and Prof. Sameh Nada, Vice President for Academic and Educational Affairs; as well as Prof. Mona Gamal El-din, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Prof. Amr Adly clarified that the university’s strategy aims to investing the Japanese expertise in qualifying its graduates to compete in the international and local labor markets. It also aims at supporting the value added of the national industries, establishing new programs and increasing collaboration with industrial bodies besides attracting foreign students, and fulfilling the increasing demand for graduates in specialized programs and services based on marketing knowledge and technology. Prof. Sameh Nada discussed the unique and special programs that the university offers throughout all its faculties and the admission requirements, exams and criteria besides the partial and full scholarships offered for postgraduates and African students. Prof. Mona Gamal El-din discussed the most important research projects in the Faculty of Engineering in the field of water treatment using solar energy.
