E-JUST Gender Equality Office (GEO) in collaboration with SAFIR project, Inner wheel club Alexandria East, Elgedar Elmatin Association, and Women and Development Association organizes a workshop titled “Home Waste Recycling Workshop” with the attendance of 24 women of New Borg Elarab city residences. This workshop aims at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs and supporting the community outside E-JUST. Date of the visit: The women visited EJUST on 13 December 2021 at 10:00 am. Visit Overview: A group of 25 women from New Borg El Arab City visited Egypt Japan University of Science and Technology (EJUST), to learn how to help themselves and their environmental by recycling. Prof. Mona Gamal Eldin – Head of Gender Equality Office, and Dean of EECE School, welcomed the women and visitors. The visit started with an introduction about the Environment and how we should safe our environment from wastes. In addition to the importance of transferring the home waste into sellable products as this will open new job opportunities for the women. Prof. Mona explained to the attendees the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in details. This helps to make them aware of and to improve their life. Dr. Azza Arafa started to train the women on how to prepare soap, shower gel, and washing gel from the wasted oil and many other components available at home. The Inner Wheel Club, Alexandria East, offered transportation and blanket for the attendees as a kind of participation towards the community. Prof. Ahmed El-Gohary – E-JUST President, welcomed the Inner Wheel delegation and took some memorable pictures. The attendees expressed happiness for attending this session.
