Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) is a research-oriented university with the determination to improve the academic environment and become a benchmark for Egyptian and African countries in higher education. The university was established in May of 2009 based on a bilateral agreement between the Egyptian and Japanese governments. In 2010, it accepted the first batch of graduate students and started the excellence journey.
Japan’s Prime Minister visited Egypt & Saudi Arabia in May 2003 to strengthen the dialogue between Japan and the Arab world.
Initial proposal on cooperation in science and technology in terms of a joint university was triggered, mid2005.
March2009 - Signing of the bilateral agreement to establish E-JUST.
-Egyptian government will sponsor land, infra- structure and buildings, and cost of Egyptian academic and administrative staff.
-Japanese government will cover equipment through a Grant Aid project and Japanese academic staff through JICA.
February2010 - Start of SoL Opening phase with Engineering Graduate programs
September2017 – Launch of Undergraduate programs
On Sept. 16’¹, 2020 HE President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi opened E-JUST main campus. His excellency was accompanied by the PM and 14 ministers. HE had a tour of E-JUST’s main campus and opened other universities virtually.
In September 2017, E-JUST achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of the Faculty of International Business and Humanities (FIBH). Since then, the university has been committed to providing high-quality education in both engineering and business disciplines.

In 2021, despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, E-JUST demonstrated its dedication to meeting dynamic educational demands. The introduction of three new undergraduate programs underscores our commitment to excellence:

These additions complement the existing Art & Design Programs and Basic and Applied Sciences Programs. It is important to note that all E-JUST degrees hold accreditation from the Supreme Council of Universities, attesting to their quality and relevance.
