Job Title: Lab Specialist for Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) Programs

Job Requirement & Skills:

Job Requirements:

1. Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Experience:
• Proven experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in a computer lab, IT lab, or related technical environment.
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware, software, and network systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting and providing technical support.
3. Knowledge of Equipment and Tools:
• Familiarity with computer hardware, network devices, and various software tools used in the lab.
• Experience with setting up and maintaining lab equipment, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.
4. Laboratory Management:
• Ability to manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure the proper functioning of equipment.
• Experience with maintaining lab safety and cleanliness standards.
5. Documentation:
• Ability to document lab procedures, configurations, and any issues or maintenance performed.
• Experience with creating instructional materials or lab manuals.
6. Technical Support:
• Ability to provide technical support to faculty, students, or other users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network problems.
7. Compliance and Security:
• Knowledge of data security protocols and compliance standards in a lab environment.
• Ability to ensure the lab meets the necessary safety, security, and privacy regulations.
8. Communication Skills:

Skills:

• Cloud Computing: Basic knowledge of cloud services and virtualized lab environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
• Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and fix issues with hardware, software, or networks.
• Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving computer system issues efficiently.
3. Programming Knowledge (optional):
• Basic or intermediate understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java, or others).
• Scripting skills to automate repetitive tasks, system configurations, or maintenance.
4. Lab Management and Organization:
• Ability to maintain an organized lab environment.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities effectively.
5. Technical Support and Customer Service:
• Experience with helping users with technical problems, offering step-by-step guidance, and resolving issues promptly.
6. Security and Data Protection:
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles to protect lab systems and ensure the security of sensitive data.
• Familiarity with encryption, firewalls, and antivirus software.

• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and other team members.
