GRADUATE PROGRAM

Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology offers opportunities of advanced study and academic research to Graduate students. Nine different programs involve Master's and Doctoral courses leading to the corresponding degrees (M.Sc. and Ph.D.), and another eleven different programs that only involve Master`s degree. . Accepted applicants to the programs will be enrolled in the next Semester Spring 2025. Lectures and instructions for research are given generally in English.

Applicants should be under 30 years for MSc applicants and 33 for PhD applicants on Oct 21, 2024 (for MOHE Scholarships).

Educational Background and Records
  • M.Sc. applicants should have a very good academic record in the related undergraduate program’s major and hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a GPA of at least 2.5 (Grade C+) or a percentage record of ≥ 75 % is required. 
  • PhD applicant should have M.Sc. (thesis-based) degrees in engineering, related to his proposed research topic, with a distinguished academic record in the related undergraduate program’s major.

Language (English) Proficiency
  • For Private and E-JUST teaching assistants scholarships applicants: TOEFL iBT 79 or Academic IELTS: 6.5 (as a full-time student) 
  • For Governmental Scholarships applicants: TOEFL iBT 79 or Academic IELTS: 6.5 (as a full time student) / TOEFL IBT 65 or Academic IELTS 5.5 (as a provisional student)

The Language certificate should be valid on the date of the application of the applicant.

E-JUST Entrance Examination/ Interview

Admission Entrance Examination and Interview consists of two parts:

  1. Written Examination (General Exam + Subject Exam)
  2. Interview (Personal and Academic Interview)

Applicants must pass successfully E-JUST both written examinations (General and Subject) and interview; the applicant minimum acceptance percentage for each exam is 50% of the total evaluation (written Exams + Interview) is 60%.

The percentages of total evaluation (Written Exams+ Interview) would be distributing as follows: 

  • For M.Sc. Applicants: 

Written exams with a weight of 70% and interview with a weight of 30% of the total evaluation. 

  • For Ph.D. Applicants:

 Written exams with a weight of 30% and interview with a weight of 70% of the total evaluation.

  1. Written Examination

Measures analytical skills, intellectuals skills and professional skills and it consists of two parts: 

  • The first part is general with a weight of 40% of total written examination marks. 

Applicant with GRE score of 148 in quantitative reasoning and GRE score of 4 in analytical writing will not be required to enter the general exam by submitting the original certificate of the GRE before the general examination; otherwise the applicant has to enter the General Examination (The GRE certificate should be valid on the date of the application of the applicant).

  • The second part (Subject Exam) is related to the student specialization with a weight of 60% of total written examination marks. 

Each exam will be carried out independently for one-hour duration.

  • Applicants are not allowed to enter the exam class room after half time of the first exam period.
  • Applicants are not allowed to leave the exam before half time of the exam period.
  1. Interview (Personal and Academic Interview)

 Includes research proposal presentation and discussion and must measure professional skills, specialization knowledge and IT skills, and teamwork skills. 

The applicant minimum acceptance percentage in each part (General Exam, Subject Exam and Interview) is 50%.

Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering (MTR)

The students’ academic background should be: 

Mechatronics and Robotics, Computers and Automatic control, Power Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, Automotive engineering. Students are expected to have good knowledge of Control Engineering, Electronics and Programming.

Industrial Engineering and Systems Management (IEM)

The students’ academic background includes:

Industrial Engineering – Production Engineering – Manufacturing Engineering – Mechanical Engineering – Mechanical Design Engineering

Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)

The students’ academic background should be:

Metallurgy, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, other related Engineering discipline.

Energy Resources Engineering (ERE)

The students’ academic background should be: Mechanical Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and other related disciplines

Environmental Engineering (ENV)

The students’ academic background should be: Chemical, Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Civil, Environmental Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, and other related disciplines.

Chemicals and Petrochemicals Engineering (CPE)

The students’ academic background should be:

Chemical and Petrochemicals Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy, other related disciplines.

Electrical Power Engineering (EPE)

The students’ academic background should be:

Electrical Power Engineering or any related fields

Double-Degree Program Between

Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan

AND

Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, School of Electronics, Communications and Computer Engineering, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, Egypt

Degrees to be granted.

The degrees expected to be granted under this Double-Degree Program by KYUSHU University will be Doctor of Information Science, Doctor of Engineering, or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and by E-JUST, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
