Scholarship Scheme Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) Academic Year 2024-2025

Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology seeks to attract the best calibers who display scientific, moral, athletic, and educational distinction; to be the role models and leaders of society in the future. Thereby, the university incorporates the best calibers of academic faculty members - Egyptian and Japanese - as well as members of the administrative staff. 

To this end, the university offers a set of scholarships to encourage and attract exceptional calibers that deserve to be affiliated with the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology to achieve the mission it was founded for, which is to provide the highest level of education and learning from within our homeland through high and sublime values without compromise or concession, and hence, to graduate citizens that are able to meet the nation's call for the well-deserved rise and advancement.

Category One: Academic Excellence Scholarships

First: Regular Egyptian High School Students:

Academic Excellence Scholarships include a range of scholarships as follows:

1 –Scholarships for the top 100 of the regular high school graduates:

The university offers ten scholarships to the top hundred students in the Egyptian high school exams (exclusively) from each division with a 100% exemption from tuition fees (excluding accommodation and nutrition expenses). In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the number of available scholarships, the selection shall be carried out according to the high school graduation grade.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the Ministry of Education stating the student's ranking at the level of Egypt.

2 - Scholarships for the governorates of Elwadi ElGadid - North Sinai - Marsa Matrouh - South Sinai - Siwa and Aswan:

The university offers a maximum of five scholarships for each of these governorates (100% exemption from tuition fees) for outstanding students from these governorates (including exemption from accommodation and nutrition expenses). 

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • Students from these governorates are nominated by an official letter from the governor's office, which the student belongs to, according to their academic excellence and social status.

3 - Academic excellence scholarships and passing admission tests:

Here, academic excellence means excellence based on the total at the secondary level and the total in passing the admission exams at E-JUST. It is calculated based on the average in equal proportions (50%: 50%) of the total score the student attained in the Egyptian General Secondary Certificate exams (excluding corresponding certificates): and the university entrance exam, and this average should not be less than 90%.

Outstanding students are granted a percentage in reduction of tuition fees (not including accommodation and food) according to the average percentage of the student’s total score in the General Secondary Certificate exams and the university entrance exam according to the following:

  • 40% reduction in tuition fees for students with a total of more than 95% 
  • 20 % reduction in tuition fees for students with a total of more than 90-95%

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  •  Students receive this scholarship by nomination from the university and no documents are submitted.

Second: STEM Scholarships 

1- Scholarships for Top STEM School Students Nationwide:

The university offers five scholarships to 5 of the top twenty-five (25) students nationwide who obtained their high school certificate from STEM schools with a full exemption from tuition fees (100%) not including exemption from accommodation and food expenses. In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the number of available scholarships, the selection shall be carried out according to the total high school.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the General Administration of STEM schools stating the student's ranking nationwide.

2- STEM School Graduate Scholarships: 

High school graduates from STEM schools are granted a 50% exemption from tuition fees (excluding exemption from accommodation and food expenses).

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • The original official certificate (not an official extract or a true copy) stating that the student obtained a high school degree from (STEM) schools.

Third: Scholarships for High School Graduates of the International Baccalaureate from Public International Schools:

High school graduates from the International Baccalaureate from international public schools are granted the following:

- The Egyptian International School in Mearag

- The Egyptian International School in Sheikh Zayed

50% exemption from tuition fees (excluding exemption from accommodation and food expenses).

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • The original official certificate (not an official extract or a true copy) stating that the student has obtained the International Baccalaureate certificate from the above-mentioned public international schools. 

In order for the student to continue to maintain this category of the various types of excellence scholarships mentioned in the first, second and third is required that his/her cumulative average in any year (CGPA) should not be less than 3.

Category Two: Athletic Excellence Scholarships:

New students enrolled in the university in this academic year and who won gold, silver or bronze medals in international championships, Arab, African or Gold medals for local championships during the years 2022-2023-2024 receive scholarships for exemption from tuition fees (not including accommodation and food) according to the following table. Additionally, students enrolled in the university who obtain the same medals in the same championships during their years of study at the university, receive scholarships for exemption from tuition fees (excluding accommodation and food) for the remaining years of their study at the university according to the following table applied in the following academic year of obtaining the sports championship.

Conditions for obtaining and continuing this scholarship:

  • To obtain the scholarship, the student must achieve any of the first three places (gold, silver or bronze medals) in international championships, Arab, African or only gold medals for local championships during the years 2022-2023-2024 receive in any individual or team sport subject to the National Center for Sports and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the stated sports Association sealed with the seal of the specified sport Association and the seal of the National Sports Council indicating the year the championship was obtained and the rank of the player in the tournament. A stamp by the Sports region or Youth and Sports directorate in the region is not accepted.

To continue to maintain this sports scholarship, the student must have a minimum cumulative average of 2.4 (CGPA) in any year and must represent the university in local and international sports activities upon request.

Category Three: Scholarships for the Children of Employees and Siblings of Students at E-JUST:

  • The children of E-JUST employees who have been appointed to the university for a year shall receive the following scholarships as long as the employee works at E-JUST (he/she did not leave to work elsewhere) or reaches the age of retirement:
  • Children of faculty members working at E-JUST: They receive a 50% exemption from tuition fees (excluding accommodation and food).
  • Children of E-JUST admin staff members: They receive a 75% exemption from tuition fees (excluding accommodation and food).

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the University's Human Resources Office of employment status.
  • Each of the siblings, including twins, studying at the university, receives a 20% exemption from tuition fees (not including accommodation and food expenses) upon joining the university. This scholarship ends with the graduation of one of the siblings.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • A copy of the university student’s ID card, to be attached to the application documents of the sibling.

In order for the student to continue to maintain the scholarship in this category, his cumulative average in any year (CGPA) must not be less than 2.4.

Category Four: Children of Army and Police Martyrs and Children of those Injured in Military Operations from the Armed Forces:

This category receives a 100% exemption fromtuition fees, including accommodation and nutrition expenses, upon joining the university after submitting the official documents proving this.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense / Ministry of Interior stating the case of death or injury in military operations.

In order for the student to continue to maintain the scholarship in this category, his cumulative average in any year (CGPA) must not be less than 2.4.

Category Five: Granting the Children of Employees in Some Entities:

First: Entities that receive grants of 25%

Children of employees in the following entities receive a 25% exemption from tuition fees, excluding accommodation and nutrition expenses, upon joining the university.

(a) Officers and members of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate of employment status from the Officers Affairs Department of the Egyptian Armed Forces for officers or the Organization and Administration Authority for individuals.

(b) Egyptian police personnel.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the Ministry of Interior of employment status.

(c) Faculty members and administrative staff members of Egyptian public universities.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the Human Resources Office at the public university of employment status.

(d) Teachers working in Egyptian public schools.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate from the educational departments or the Ministry of Education stating the employment status.

(e) Children of employees of Ezz Steel Group

Documents required to be submitted for Ezz Steel Group of Companies

  • An official certificate from the Human Resources office of Ezz Steel Group stating that the parent works for the company.

Second: Entities that receive grants of 10%

Children of faculty members working in various research centers, institutes, bodies, and children of judges receive an exemption of 10% of tuition fees, not including accommodation and nutrition expenses, when they join the university.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official certificate stating that the parent works in one of the various research centers, institutes or bodies as a faculty member; and for the children of judges, an official certificate from the Ministry of Justice of the employment status.

In order for the student to continue to maintain the scholarship in this category, his cumulative average in any year (CGPA) must not be less than 2.4.

Category Six: Children of Engineer Officers Working in the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces

In recognition of the historical role of the Engineering Authority in building the campus, the university offers five scholarships for 100% exemption from tuition fees, excluding accommodation and nutrition expenses for the children of, active, officers in the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces; distributed after the approval of the university and after passing the university's admission requirements.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • An official letter approved by the Ministry of Defense with the names of the students nominated for this scholarship.

In order for the student to continue to maintain the scholarship in this category, his cumulative average in any year (CGPA) must not be less than 2.4

Category Seven: Excellence Scholarships for Students Enrolled in the University:

University students receive a scholarship of more than 20% exemption from tuition fees for the academic year (excluding accommodation and food) if they obtain a cumulative grade (cumulative total) CGPA=3.7 in the previous academic year and a scholarship of more than 40 % exemption from tuition fees (excluding accommodation and food) if they obtained a cumulative grade (cumulative total) CGPA=3.85 in the previous academic year.  This scholarship may be combined only with any of the six scholarships mentioned above.

Documents required to be submitted for this scholarship:

  • The student applies for this scholarship accompanied by a statement approved by the university with the student's grades in previous years, indicating the current CGPA .

In order for the student to continue to maintain this scholarship, his cumulative average in any year (CGPA) should not be less than 3.7 for the scholarship of 20% or 3.85 for the scholarship of 40%.

Important Notes:

  • Scholarships and financial aid (if any) are distributed in accordance with the conditions of the donor and the rules in force at the university.
  • The academic excellence scholarships offered by the university are offered to students who have recently graduated from high school and not to students transferring from other universities.
  • All scholarships do not include the expenses of repeating any course based on the student's failure or a request to improve the grade.
  • The student can obtain only one scholarship from all the scholarships provided by the university mentioned above in this document if he/she is entitled to it, and it is not permissible to combine the scholarships, whether from two different categories or within the same category, except for the excellence scholarship for students enrolled in the university, which is mentioned in the Category Seven, which may be combined with any scholarship from the different categories.
  • The student cannot obtain the category–specific scholarships in the case of early retirement or resignation.
  • The rules in force in this document apply to new high school students enrolled in the university in the academic year 2024-2025. Current students are subject to the rules of scholarships approved in the academic year of their enrollment in the university in addition to the application of item IV (Excellence Scholarships for Students Enrolled in the University) of the first category of scholarships mentioned in this document.
  • The student and his/her guardian sign the scholarship contract, and this is a commitment from both parties - the university and the student - to the conditions of the scholarship provided.
  • Scholarships are not applied to the student if the student does not submit the originals of the high school certificate and the originals of the documents required to obtain the scholarship no later than the fourth week from the date of the beginning of the study period.
  • The university has the right to cancel the scholarships offered to the student based on his/her academic development or committing one of the disciplinary violations approved by the disciplinary board if the student violates any of the university's academic or organizational regulations.
